Dean Lewis is an Australian singer-songwriter from Sydney, Australia. He first gained recognition in 2016 with his single "Waves", which peaked at number 5 on the ARIA Singles Chart. Lewis has since released two albums, A Place We Knew and Same Kind of Different. His music has been featured in several television shows and films, including the Netflix series 13 Reasons Why.
Musical Career
Lewis began his career in 2015, releasing his debut single "Waves" which was released independently. The song was an instant success, peaking at number 5 on the ARIA Singles Chart and receiving airplay on radio stations across Australia. He followed up this success with the release of his debut EP Same Kind of Different in 2017, which peaked at number 4 on the ARIA Albums Chart.
In 2019, Lewis released his debut album A Place We Knew, which peaked at number 3 on the ARIA Albums Chart and was certified Gold in Australia. The album featured the singles "Be Alright", "Stay Awake" and "7 Minutes". The album was also nominated for Best Pop Release at the 2020 ARIA Awards.
