Elvis Aaron Presley (January 8, 1935 – August 16, 1977) was an American singer, musician, and actor. He is often referred to as the "King of Rock and Roll" or simply "the King". He is one of the most influential and important figures of 20th-century popular culture.

Presley began his career as a singer in 1954, recording for Sun Records. He achieved massive success with his first single, "Heartbreak Hotel". He was then signed to RCA Victor and released a string of successful albums and singles.
