Biography
John Legend is an American singer, songwriter, record producer, and actor. He was born John Roger Stephens on December 28, 1978, in Springfield, Ohio. He began playing piano at the age of seven and began performing gospel music at the age of twelve. He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 1999 and began pursuing a career in music.
Musical Career
Legend's career began when he was featured on Lauryn Hill's album The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill in 1998. He then released his debut album, Get Lifted, in 2004 which featured the hit single "Ordinary People". The album was certified Gold and won three Grammy Awards. He has since released five more studio albums, including the critically acclaimed Love in the Future (2013) and Darkness and Light (2016). He has won a total of ten Grammy Awards, including the prestigious Grammy for Album of the Year for his work on the album Once Again in 2007.
