Måneskin is an Italian rock band from Rome, formed in 2015. The band consists of vocalist Damiano David, bassist Victoria De Angelis, guitarist Thomas Raggi, and drummer Ethan Torchio.
Biography
Måneskin was formed in 2015 when Damiano David and Thomas Raggi met at a party and decided to form a band. They soon added Victoria De Angelis on bass and Ethan Torchio on drums. The band's name is derived from the Danish word for "moonlight".
Musical Career
Måneskin released their debut EP, Chosen, in 2017. The EP featured the singles "Torna a Casa" and "Chosen". The band's debut studio album Il Ballo della Vita was released in 2019, and was preceded by the singles "Morirò da Re", "Le Parole Lontane", and "Vent'anni". The album was certified gold in Italy and was nominated for Best Rock Album at the 2020 Italian Music Awards.
In 2021, Måneskin won the 2021 Eurovision Song Contest with their song "Zitti e Buoni". The song was released as a single and went to number one in Italy and several other European countries.
