Miley Ray Cyrus (born Destiny Hope Cyrus; November 23, 1992) is an American singer, songwriter, actress, and philanthropist. She gained fame for her role in the Disney Channel television series Hannah Montana as Miley Stewart / Hannah Montana, which made her a teen idol. Her father is country singer Billy Ray Cyrus.
Musical Career
Cyrus began her career in the entertainment industry as a child actress, appearing in the television series Doc and the film Big Fish in 2003. In 2006, she released her debut album, Meet Miley Cyrus, which went on to become a multi-platinum success. Her follow-up albums, Breakout (2008) and Can't Be Tamed (2010), saw continued commercial success. Cyrus starred in the feature film Hannah Montana: The Movie (2009) and her own television series, Hannah Montana, which aired from 2006 to 2011.

Cyrus is known for her distinctive sound, which draws from a variety of genres, including pop, country, rock, hip hop, and R&B.
