Biography
Nicky Jam is a Puerto Rican-American singer, songwriter, and rapper. He is one of the most successful Latin American urban artists of the last decade. He was born in Lawrence, Massachusetts, on March 17, 1981, and grew up in Barrio Obrero, Puerto Rico. His mother was from Puerto Rico and his father was from the Dominican Republic.
Musical Career
Nicky Jam’s career began in the early 2000s with his debut album, Haciendo Escante. The album was a hit in Latin America and established him as a popular reggaeton artist. He went on to collaborate with some of the biggest names in Latin music, including Daddy Yankee, Don Omar, and Wisin & Yandel. In 2017, he reached a new level of success with the release of his single “El Amante,” which became a hit in multiple countries.
In 2018, Nicky Jam released his sixth studio album, Fenix, which was a massive success. The album spawned hit singles such as “X,” “El Perdon,” and “Hasta El Amanecer.” His most recent album, Íntimo, was released in 2020 and featured collaborations with artists such as J Balvin, Ozuna, and Anuel AA.
