Biography
The Red Hot Chili Peppers are an American rock band formed in Los Angeles, California in 1983. The band's original lineup consisted of vocalist Anthony Kiedis, guitarist Hillel Slovak, bassist Flea, and drummer Jack Irons. Slovak and Irons left the band in 1988 and were replaced by guitarist John Frusciante and drummer Chad Smith, who would become the longest-standing members of the band.

The Red Hot Chili Peppers' musical style has evolved over the years, beginning with their early funk rock sound, and later incorporating elements of punk, rap, and psychedelic rock.
