Romeo Santos, born Anthony Santos on July 21, 1981, is an American singer, songwriter and actor. Born in the Bronx, New York, Santos is the lead singer of the bachata group Aventura. He has also released four solo albums, Formula, Vol. 1, Formula, Vol. 2, Golden and Utopia.
Musical Career:
Santos started his musical career in 1999 when he formed the bachata group Aventura. The group achieved international stardom with their hit songs such as “Obsesión”, “Cuando Volverás” and “Un Beso”. In 2011, Santos left the group to pursue a solo career. He has since released four solo albums, Formula, Vol. 1, Formula, Vol. 2, Golden and Utopia.
Influences and Musical Style:
Santos has been influenced by a variety of musical styles, including bachata, salsa, merengue, hip-hop and R&B. He has also been influenced by Latin music legends such as Juan Luis Guerra, Romeo Santos and Marc Anthony. His musical style blends traditional bachata with a modern twist, incorporating elements of hip-hop and R&B.
