Snoop Dogg, born Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr., is an American rapper, singer, songwriter, producer, media personality, entrepreneur, and actor. He began his career in 1992 when he was discovered by Dr. Dre and featured on Dre's solo debut, "Deep Cover". He has since sold over 23 million albums in the United States and 35 million albums worldwide.
Musical Career
Snoop Dogg's career began in 1992 when he was featured on the song "Deep Cover" by Dr. Dre. He became a central figure in the West Coast hip hop scene and was signed to Death Row Records in 1993. His debut album, Doggystyle, was released in 1993 and sold over 8 million copies. He has released 17 studio albums, 4 collaborative albums, and numerous mixtapes and singles.
Influences and Musical Style
Snoop Dogg's music is heavily influenced by the G-funk style of the early 1990s. His music has been described as a mix of gangsta rap, funk, and soul. He has also been influenced by the music of Bob Marley, P-Funk, and 2Pac.
