Testament is an American thrash metal band originally from Berkeley, California, formed in 1983. The band was initially founded as Legacy by guitarist Eric Peterson, drummer Louie Clemente, and vocalist Derrick Ramirez, soon joined by guitarist Alex Skolnick and bassist Greg Christian. The band changed its name to Testament in 1986.
