Biography
The 1975 is an English rock band formed in 2002 in Wilmslow, Cheshire. The band consists of lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Matthew Healy, lead guitarist Adam Hann, bassist Ross MacDonald, and drummer George Daniel. The band's origins trace back to when Healy, Hann, MacDonald, and Daniel were all attending the Wilmslow High School and later they attended the University of Manchester.
Musical Career
The 1975 released their self-titled debut album in September 2013. The album was a commercial success, reaching number one in the UK Albums Chart and number twenty-two in the US Billboard 200. The band released their second album, I Like It When You Sleep, for You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware of It, in February 2016. The album was a critical and commercial success, reaching number one in the UK and number five in the US. The band's third album, A Brief Inquiry into Online Relationships, was released in November 2018 and reached number one in the UK and number four in the US.

The 1975 have cited a wide range of influences, including the Strokes, the Smiths, Joy Division, David Bowie, Prince, Depeche Mode, the Cure, the Stone Roses, the Beach Boys, Radiohead, and Kanye West.
